Society of Vineyard Scholars

The Society of Vineyard Scholars is now soliciting papers for the Sixth Annual SVS Conference, “Thinking With the Church, Thinking With the Vineyard,” to be held on April 16-18, 2015 at Blue Route Vineyard in Media, PA.

All who like to think theologically about their area of scholarly interest are invited and encouraged to submit a paper to be considered for presentation.

Building on last year’s format, the Program Committee has deliberately structured a conference that both builds on the best of what we have done in the past and enables fully-orbed dialogue on important issues. (A big “Thank You!” to Program Committee Chair Ryan McAnnally-Linz and his fantastic team for their hard work that so benefits all of us in SVS.)

The focused themes of the SVS 2015 conference invite scholarly reflection on four of the Core Values of the Vineyard:

  • Compassionate Ministry: Preaching and Teaching Troubling Texts
  • Experiencing God and the Kingdom in Educational Practices
  • Ecclesial Leadership for Culturally Relevant Mission
  • Partnering with the Holy Spirit: Toward a Vineyard Ecclesiology

Each of these themes are unpacked in much greater detail in the Call For Papers. Please be sure to download and read the Call For Papers carefully as you consider your submission for SVS 2015.

The submission deadline is January 31st, 2015.
