Title: Community and Maturity
Post by: Walter Thiessen on June 22, 2018, 05:03 PM
Abstract:
While James Fowler’s stage theory has dominated most academic discussions of faith development, there have been critiques of its rigid stage structure. This paper builds on an alternative model and uses that model to consider the role of faith communities in nurturing the spiritual development of its members. A YWAM-based study is used as an example, and readers are invited to extend these ideas to Vineyard churches. The challenge is to nurture communities with enough elasticity to provide a welcoming home base even while individuals have room to expand and grow outside of the familiar bounds of the community.

(I promised Jon that I would set the pace for uploading papers! Great to see everyone and participate in a warm and receptive community.)

@Walter Thiessen (https://www.vineyardscholars.org/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=777) , I loved your paper - the Mosaic Model has plenty of flexibility! Have you done any additional work with the model?
