Title: Book Review: Giving Leadership by Costa Mitchell
Post by: Michael Dunn on July 05, 2018, 02:03 PM
Abstract:

Costa Mitchell in Giving Leadership, wants Christians to remember who they are. Costa offers both a corrective and a way forward. The corrective is for leaders to exchange their oft self-serving agenda for a giving, servant leadership model that empowers, collaborates, and focuses on the common good (Mitchell, Costa. 2017. Giving Leadership: Taking others with you on a journey to destiny. Vineyard International Publishing. Kindle Edition, (pp. 319-320).

Leadership for Costa is both a spiritual gift and a honed skilled.  Spiritual leadership is about being a follower of Jesus. Leaders must allow God to shape their character, their spiritual gifts, their desires, and their mission. Costa provides a detailed understanding of both gifted and giving leadership through biblical exposition and practical secular understanding of what leadership looks like.
