Title: To Our Descendants: A Good Friday Communal Art Project
Post by: Michelle Ting on June 24, 2016, 07:18 AM
Abstract:
Three crosses, outlined by nails on white panels, set the scene of Jesus' crucifixion. Meanwhile, a slideshow of personal stories collected from our community were projected onto the crucifixion panels. The slideshow opens with Genesis 15: God promises Abram that after 400 years of alienation, enslavement, and oppression, his descendants will receive justice, prosperity, and a homeland. The subsequent photographs and interviews compose an audio-visual testimony, recounting deep historical wounds and generational sins that Jesus came to redeem.

The artist's notes and images of the projected slides are attached to this post.
